Physical mediumship is defined as manipulation of energies and energy systems by spirits. This type of mediumship is involved perceptible manifestations, such as loud raps and noises, voices, materialized objects, apports, materialized spirit bodies, or body parts such as hands, legs, and feet. The medium is used as a source of power for such spirit manifestations.

The medium is a conduit, for spirit communication in a trans state or non-trans state relaying messages in discourses of guidance or teachings, from a certain entity or as a collective consciousness, the medium allows it to enter their body in these trans states of mind. Today there are many channelers who allow spirit to communicate through them as collective consciousness, Archangels, guides and ascended masters.
